Agnes Water | 1770

1770

Lieutenant James Cook visited here in 1770. It was their first stop in Queensland and only their second stop in Australia.
The nearby town takes its name from this visit (Town of 1770).
It is one of the few places in Queensland where you can watch the
sunset over water.
Have a meal or drink at "THE TREE" while you still can !! (beat the bulldozers before they tear down history).
1770 is 7km from Agnes Water town centre, there is a walking track so you can work up an appetite before dinner at the Tree.

Captain Cook landed near here 1770 Agnes Water
